About

DataSafe India Foundation is an independent educational initiative dedicated to improving digital literacy, privacy awareness, and responsible technology use in India. We create clear, practical resources that help people understand their digital footprint and engage online more safely and thoughtfully.

Mission

DataSafe India Foundation exists to strengthen digital literacy and privacy awareness across India.

As smartphones, social media, and digital services become deeply embedded in everyday life, millions of people are participating online without clear understanding of how their personal data is collected, stored, shared, or misused. The Foundation’s mission is to close this gap through clear, practical, and accessible education on digital privacy, digital footprints, and safe online behavior.

By creating freely available resources, learning programs, and community-focused initiatives, DataSafe India Foundation aims to empower individuals to make informed choices online, protect their personal information, and engage with digital technology in a safer, more intentional way.

Founder, Aniksha

Aniksha is the Founder of DataSafe India Initiative, an independent initiative focused on digital literacy, privacy awareness, and responsible technology use in India.

She works in software at IBM and has over two years of experience working with modern digital systems. Having grown up alongside rapid technological change, she has seen how access to technology in India has outpaced education around data privacy and online safety.

Based in Bangalore, Aniksha is also a classically trained vocalist and Bharatanatyam dancer.

DataSafe India Initiative was created to formalize her long-standing engagement in this space and to build practical, accessible resources for safer digital participation.
